This old commemorative handkerchief is an exceptional piece of remembrance published in 1982 by the National Association of Volunteer Resistance Fighters (ANCVR), Union of Hauts-de-Seine.
It pays tribute to the legacy of General de Gaulle and the sacrifice of the French Resistance. The central design features the Cross of Lorraine, symbol of Free France, surrounded by a powerful quote from Charles de Gaulle on honor and humanism: "In our time, the only worthwhile struggle is that of honor...
it is humanity that must be saved, nurtured, and developed."
The item boasts a carefully designed layout with several key dates inscribed around the border:
Type: Pocket square / Collector's handkerchief.
Material: Fine fabric (probably white cotton or linen).
Colors: Off-white fabric with navy blue prints and geometric patterns.
Date: 1982 (Mont Valérien Ceremony) Valérien).
Dimensions: Height 31.5 cm - Width 32 cm
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The fabric is clean, the inscriptions are perfectly legible, and the edges are well finished. Note the lack of blue color on the corners.
Historical Heritage: An authentic testament to Gaullist memory and the commitment of the volunteer Resistance fighters.
Strong Symbolism: The multiple appearances of the Cross of Lorraine and the handwritten quote make this a choice piece for a collector of militaria or French history.
Rare Item: These handkerchiefs were often produced in limited editions for members of associations or for specific commemorations at Mont Valérien.
To preserve the quality of the blue prints and the whiteness of the fabric, we recommend storing this handkerchief away from moisture and direct sunlight. If you wish to display it, framing it under UV-protective glass is ideal.
